Chronology

1979        Was elected for Vice Chairman of Student Union of University of Hong Kong

1980        Founded "Public Policy Research Centre" with colleagues in University

1985        Elected as member of the Kwai Tsing District Board

1986        Elected as member of the District Urban Council

1988        Elected as member of the District Board and Chairman of Kwai Tsing District Board

1989        The Central government repressed democratic movement by force. Lee Wing Tat joined the "Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movement in China founded by Seto Wah, and Martin Lee.

1990        Founded "Hong Kong Democratic Alliance" with Martin Lee, Seto Wah, Yeung Sum, Ho Chun Yan, Cheung Man Kong and Ng Ming Yam.

1991        First elected as member of Legislative Council

1995        Re-elected as member of Legislative Council

1998        Elected as member of the first Legislative Council of the HKSAR

2000        Lost seat in Legislative Counci

2002        Elected as Vice-Chairman of Democratic Party

2003        Elected as member of Kwai Tsing District Council

2004        Re-elected as member of Legislative Council
